GARBO: Who’s Rooting for President Trump’s Assassination… and Why?

The Media’s War on Truth: How Corruption and Lies Have Fueled Calls for Trump’s Assassination

The media in America has long positioned itself as the watchdog of democracy, a beacon of truth and accountability. Yet, in recent years, it has become painfully clear that much of the mainstream media has abandoned any pretense of objectivity, trading their role as arbiters of truth for the role of political attack dogs. Nowhere is this more evident than in their coverage of President Donald Trump. The media’s corrupt, one-sided assault on him has not only distorted public perception, but it has actively contributed to a dangerous and unthinkable outcome: a Rasmussen poll now shows that 28% of Democrats are quietly rooting for President Trump's assassination.

Take a moment to absorb that. More than one in four Democrats - 28% - believe that America would be better off if President Trump were dead. This is not some outlier statistic from a fringe group, but a staggering revelation about the profound moral decay infecting our national discourse. Scott Rasmussen, president of RMG Research, put it bluntly: “It is hard to imagine a greater threat to democracy than expressing a desire to have your political opponent murdered.”

This is the inevitable result of years of relentless media brainwashing, in which a consistent narrative has been pushed that Trump is not just a political opponent, but a dangerous existential threat to the republic. Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman, called it for what it is, condemning the mainstream media and her own party: “It is a symptom of the moral rot and bankruptcy of today's Democrat Party and the Propaganda Media.” And she’s right. The media, once tasked with holding power to account, has become the megaphone for a party that openly flirts with authoritarian impulses, suppressing dissenting voices and fanning the flames of hatred toward a former President who still commands the loyalty of millions of Americans.

The numbers speak for themselves. According to the same Rasmussen poll, 82% of Democrats believe Trump is a "major threat to democracy," a figure born out of years of carefully curated lies, manipulations, and disinformation campaigns orchestrated by the media. They have incessantly promoted the idea that Trump is a tyrant, a traitor, and a villain, with little regard for truth or journalistic integrity. This false narrative, repeated endlessly across news outlets, has become an accepted fact to millions of Americans.

It is no surprise, then, that so many have crossed a dangerous moral line, believing that Trump’s death would somehow save the country. The media’s constant bombardment of hateful rhetoric has poisoned the minds of its viewers, leading to a situation where political assassination is seen as a viable solution to a political disagreement.

We must ask ourselves: how did we get here? The answer is clear - through a media landscape so corrupt and biased that it no longer values the truth. Whether it was the fabricated Russia collusion hoax, the intentional misrepresentation of Trump’s policies, or the endless misreporting of his statements, the media has worked tirelessly to vilify him in the eyes of the public. When you paint someone as an existential threat for long enough, you inevitably cultivate an environment where people believe that extreme measures, even violence, are justified.

The results of the Rasmussen poll should shake us to our core. This is not just about Trump, but about the survival of our democratic norms. When 28% of Democrats - more than one in four - believe assassination is the answer, we are not just witnessing a political crisis, but a moral one. The media bears a heavy responsibility for this. Their willful negligence, or perhaps even deliberate intent, has sown the seeds of violence and hatred, poisoning the very foundation of democracy they claim to protect.

Scott Rasmussen’s warning should be heeded by all who care about the future of this country. There is no greater threat to democracy than a populace that believes political murder is an acceptable path forward. And yet, that is precisely where we are today, thanks to the ceaseless propaganda and lies peddled by a corrupt media apparatus.

This is not just about President Trump. It’s about the moral fiber of our nation and the terrifying direction in which we are headed if the media continues to lead us down this dangerous path. We must demand accountability from our media institutions, who have betrayed the public trust in their quest to demonize one man. If we allow this to continue, we risk losing far more than just the truth. We risk losing the soul of our country.
